Mark & Lisa Pendlebury
Mark and Lisa Pendlebury met in May of 1999 and fell madly in love. They married 7 months later. With each new challenge they’ve faced since, they have done so standing side by side. After 25 years together, Mark and Lisa continue to choose life together, and celebrate each moment they experience together.
Mark and Lisa have built a life and a legacy they are proud of.
The Pendlebury Family
Mark and Lisa have 2 amazing daughters and a son in law. Kelley is a nurse at the children’s hospital emergency department. Emlyn is enrolled at Technical College for Drafting and Architectural Engineering Program, while working part time as an admin. Emlyn is married to her high school sweetheart, Joseph. He works as a fire alarm technician and is often accused of being Lisa’s favorite child.
The Extended Fam
Nothing is possible without the village. Lisa’s parents, Rob & Leslie, sister and brother in law, Robin & Brian, brother and sister in law, Aaron & Jeri, and their church family at the Augusta Vineyard consistently provide invaluable support. From helping with meals, assisting with transportation to dialysis or doctor visits, yard work, or emotional support, there is no way they could have continued to thrive without a village.
Why Are We Here?
Mark has been faced with some unique, enduring health challenges. Diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes at 4 years old, and receiving insufficient medical care and education on how to treat his condition as a young child, caused irreparable damage to various parts of Mark’s body, including his kidneys.
1 year into their marriage, they were presented with the information Mark was in Stage 1 Kidney Failure. They did as much as possible over the next 11 years to slow the progression of the disease, until being diagnosed with End Stage Renal Failure in 2012.
In 2014, Mark received a life changing deceased donor Kidney and Pancreas Transplant. Unfortunately, after being in a coma in 2022, Mark’s donated kidney rapidly declined in function, leading to needing another transplant. Because native and donated organs are not removed when receiving a transplant- Mark’s Fourth Kidney was born

Why Are You Here?
Our mission is to get the Pendlebury’s some much needed help and share Mark & Lisa’s story along the way. They have been blessed with miracles, and are hoping for another.
Mark’s transplant team has encouraged them to attempt to find a living kidney donor to extend the life of the transplanted organ, and Mark’s life. There is also a need for physical and financial support during a return to a challenging season.
Through all of the medical challenges they have faced together, Mark and Lisa have learned a lot! They are hoping to share some of their experiences to bless others on a complex medical journey, while also keeping family and friends up to date on everything.
